Job summary

AMD is seeking driven students for Spring/Summer Co-op and Summer Internship roles in Massachusetts and other locations. You will work 40 hours per week in hybrid or onsite settings, collaborating with software engineers to build and maintain applications, while gaining real-world experience across AI and software projects.

You’ll learn the full software development lifecycle and contribute to meaningful code and tooling.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US university in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts, programming in C/C++, and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux, databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), cloud Linux/Windows, web frameworks, and version control.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers to build and maintain AMD software applications.
• Participate in training on the full software development lifecycle: design, build, test, and deploy.
• Create scripts to automate parts of the development process and assist in debugging.

• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term

• Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 - August 13, 2027
• Summer Internship:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - August 13, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - September 10, 2027
• Summer/Fall Co-op:
  • Semester Students: May 24, 2027 - December 10, 2027
  • Quarter Students: June 21, 2027 - December 10, 2027

What You Will Be Doing

• We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications.
• We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment.
• We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process.
• We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues.
• In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.

Who We Are Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Master’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
