Job summary

AMD is seeking a Master’s student in Electrical or Computer Engineering for a 2027 co-op/intern term at multiple US sites, including Fort Collins, CO. The role requires full-time 40 hours per week in hybrid or onsite environments, collaborating with engineers on discrete and embedded hardware products.

You will gain real-world experience building applications for internal/external use and large-scale systems, with training in ASIC design/verification, ML/AI, and computer architecture.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a US-based University Pursuing a Master’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in C/C++, Python and HDL/verification basics; exposure to ML/AI is a plus.
• Familiarity with ASIC design/verification, board design concepts, and system-level thinking.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers on AMD’s discrete and embedded hardware products.
• Train to build applications for external/internal use and large-scale systems to improve efficiency of the Hardware organization.

• Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time (40 hours a week), in either a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co‑op/intern term

What You Will Be Doing

• You will collaborate with Engineers and be responsible for some of AMD’s discrete and embedded hardware products.
• We will train you to build applications for external and internal use as well as large scale systems that improve the efficiency of AMD Hardware organization.

Who We Are Looking For

• You are currently enrolled in a US based University into a Master’s program majoring in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
  • C/C++, Verilog, VHDL, Python, Perl, Spice, Ruby, Chrome OS, MATLAB.
  • ASIC design and verification.
  • ML and AI.
  • System/Board design, circuit board layout, signal integrity, power design.
  • Hardware automation, validation and test.
  • UNIX and JTAG tools.
  • Pre-silicon and/or post-silicon platforms.
  • Computer architecture, CPU & GPU architecture.
