Textron’s 2027 Manufacturing Engineer Intern in Cartersville GA offers hands-on project work across production tooling, process development, and continuous improvement. You’ll design plans and reference documents, analyze layouts, and help improve product flow on real programs alongside experienced engineers.

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
• Redesign tooling to improve operators’ work environments.
• Analyze layouts and production processes to improve facility layouts for product flow.
• Create reference documents and standardized work for new or improved processes.
• Analyze quality concerns, make recommendations for improvement, and implement ideas.
• Explore new equipment and software to reduce scrap and downtime and recommend changes to production flow.
• Monitor and improve key supply chain KPIs such as PPM, line disruptions and NCMT closure days.
• Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and enhance the product.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.

• Analyze layouts and production processes to improve facility layouts for product flow.

• Creating reference documents and standardized work for new or improved processes.

• Analyze quality concerns, make recommendations for improvement, and implement ideas.

• Exploring new equipment and software that can reduce scrap and downtime and recommend changes to production flow to implement recommendations.

• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPIs including PPM, line disruptions and days to close non-conforming material tickets (NCMT).

• Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and investigate methods to enhance the product.

• Coordinate material and tooling availability with appropriate stakeholders.
