Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join the Aeronautics Systems Intern Program in Iuka, MS. The selected candidate will work on calibration, testing, and assembly tasks under guidance in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate STEM program and able to complete at least 10 weeks during summer 2027 while obtaining security clearance.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace or other STEM field.
• Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other STEM field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment or systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments and replacements as directed.
• Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join the Aeronautics Systems Intern Program. This position will be located in Iuka, MS. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector in the Aerostructures group.

The selected candidate will perform the following, including, but not limited to:

• Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
• Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.
• Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 202.
• Be majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other STEM major
• Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
• Previous internship/co-op experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Intern Pay Range

• Undergraduate degrees (Including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master's program): $17.50 to $31.75 per hour
• Master's: $24.75 to $39.25 per hour
