Job summary

Textron Aviation offers a 2027 Structural Engineer Analyst internship in Wichita, KS. You will perform structural analysis, review drawings, and support fleet and production aircraft modifications during a 10-week summer program.

You will gain hands-on experience with finite element analysis, produce technical reports, and develop professional skills through mentorship and real project work, with the aim of future career growth at Textron.

Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform structural analysis in support of new design and production support activities. Provide analysis and structural design support on fleet aircraft modifications and existing production aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review Engineering Drawings and Digital Data to ensure efficient load path and adequate structural strength and stiffness
• Keep detailed Stress Notes on design changes and production non-conformances
• Utilize Finite Element Software to solve complex structural problems
• Prepare Structural Reports in support of FAA compliance findings

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Aerospace Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.

Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
