Job summary

Kautex in Michigan seeks an Internship/Co-Op in Materials/Supply Chain to support material systems and supplier relations within the Materials department. You will perform a broad range of duties related to materials and assist in developing procedures, while applying Kautex policies to supplier bases.

Current university student pursuing materials, supply chain, or industrial engineering; preference for materials science knowledge and automotive experience.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a university degree in materials, supply chain, or industrial engineering.
• Knowledge of materials science and material functions preferred.
• Automotive industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad range of material duties within Materials department
• Support creation of material systems and procedures
• Apply Kautex policies and procedures to supplier base
• Develop and maintain liaison with suppliers and internal customers
• Supports the continuous quality improvement process by evaluating material processes for potential enhancements
• Capture Lessons Learned for future processes
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned (e.g. maintaining open issues, lessons learned, and after-action review data)

What you'll need to succeed:

• Currently pursuing University Degree in materials, supply chain, or industrial engineering
• Preference for candidates with knowledge in materials science
• Knowledge of material functions
• Automotive related experience preferred
