Textron Aviation is seeking an enthusiastic Quality Test Engineering Intern in Lutz, FL to support the Quality Management System and product quality assurance activities for flight simulation training devices. You will assist with verification & validation, acceptance testing, discrepancy management, and audit processes under supervision.

The Quality Engineer Intern supports the Quality Management System (QMS) and product quality assurance activities for commercial and defense flight simulation training devices. This role is adapted from the Test Engineer function but focused on quality oversight, audit support, test verification, and data integrity, rather than test execution. The intern contributes to ensuring simulators meet:
ISO 9001 QMS requirements
FAA Part 60 / EASA CS-FSTD qualification expectations
Customer and program requirements
The QE Intern works under supervision while gaining exposure to verification & validation (V&V), acceptance testing, discrepancy management, and audit processes.
Support development and review of:
Quality Requirements
Quality Assurance Plans (QAP)
Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Operational Test Methods (OTM)
Assist in reviewing:
Performance specifications
Test procedures for completeness and quality compliance
Support:
Test planning meetings
Program reviews and quality readiness activities
Help ensure alignment between requirements, verification and validation methods, and acceptance criteria
Support execution of test activities by:
Assisting with test setup and documentation
Observing simulator acceptance testing and qualification events
Verifying that procedures are followed correctly
Assist with:
Data collection and verification of configuration baselines
Basic analysis of test results against expected criteria
Document:
Discrepancies and nonconformances during testing
Support generation of:
Test report and summaries
Assist with:
Root cause analysis (RCA)
Tracking and closure of discrepancy reports (DRs/NCRs)
Support:
Failure investigations
Data-driven quality improvements
Participate in:
Process improvement initiatives
Procedure and workflow updates
Help analyze:
Trends in defects, test failures, or recurring issues
Support internal audits of:
Design processes
Test execution processes
Manufacturing/integration activities
Assist in:
Collecting objective evidence
Verifying document control
Supporting CPAR tracking and closure
Help ensure:
Traceability between requirements, tests, and results
Work with:
Test Engineers
Software/Systems Engineers
Manufacturing and Integration teams
Support coordination across:
Program execution
Test and acceptance readiness
Quality reviews
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in: Microsoft Excel, Word, Co-Pilot and basic data analysis methods

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks.
Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
