Textron Aviation Inc. in Wichita invites you to join our 10-week internship for Materials & Processing Engineering. You will perform testing and evaluation of metallic materials, including mechanical testing, metallurgical analysis, SEM work, and related laboratory techniques.

This is a hands-on role designed to prepare you for a career in materials engineering. Summer interns work 40 hours per week, onsite, with mentorship, training, and real project experience.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Hands-on experience with machinery or laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Machine and test samples using a universal test machine
  • Prepare and examine samples for metallographic analysis
  • Examine samples using a scanning electron microscope
  • Support engineers performing materials evaluation and failure analysis

Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Interns will perform testing and evaluation of metallic materials. This may include opportunities in mechanical testing, metallurgical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and other laboratory analysis techniques.

  • Prepare and examine samples for metallographic analysis

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
