Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an Intern in Pricing & Estimating at Hunt Valley, MD. You’ll support proposal teams, analyze labor and material estimates, and input data into ProPricer to help create compliant cost proposals.

This paid, 10-week summer internship offers mentorship, training, and real project work with the potential for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to collaborate across functions.
• Basic knowledge of accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support proposal team members in cost proposals.
• Ensure compliant proposals are current and complete.
• Analyze labor hour, material, travel, and other estimates.
• Input data into ProPricer and generate reports.
• Assist in preparing management review slides.
• Support customer fact-finding, negotiations and audits.
• Follow procedures and work under general direction.

A Day in the Life of a Pricing & Estimating Intern:

Support proposal team members in the development of cost proposals.

Participate in multiple activities to ensure fully-supported , compliant proposals are current, accurate, and complete in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and company policies.

Analyze labor hour estimates, material estimates, travel, and other functional estimates

Input data into ProPricer and generate reports

Assist in preparing management review slides

Support customer fact-finding, negotiations and audits.

Follow established procedures and work under general direction.

Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance , Accounting or a related field and/or less than 2 years of relevant work experience.

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• PC proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

• Advanced Excel skills are a plus. Ability to learn new software quickly

• Capable of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to work well with others at all levels and disciplines

• Basic knowledge of General Accounting processes, procedures, and rules

Textron’s compensation package includes competitive base pay and provides eligible employees with benefit programs.
