Job summary

Gooseneck Implement is offering a John Deere Ag Tech internship in the service department. The program provides hands-on learning through basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on agricultural and turf equipment.

Participants will shadow staff and take part in AMS product work, with classroom and shop training integrated into the program. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, pursuing an AAS in John Deere Tech, and the ability to lift 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Pursuing an AAS degree in John Deere Tech program.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using manuals and tools.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Fork lift license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in project assignments centered around service-related activities at the dealership.
• Works with and shadows selected personnel to gain experience in the service department.
• Performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and AMS products.
• Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for skill development.
• Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Accounts for all time on a time card and for all material used in duties.

About the Position

Department: Service
Reports to: Service Manager
Supervises: None

Purpose:
Provides an opportunity for John Deere Ag Tech students to become involved in service-related activities within the dealership. Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman or senior technicians. Intern program runs in conjunction with the John Deere Ag Tech program, incorporating classroom and hands on learning.

Compensation

$22 starting for first year
$24 for second year

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
• Pursuing AAS Degree in John Deere Tech program
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Valid drivers license is required
• Fork lift license preferred
