Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a grateful engineering intern to design and test guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) solutions for its autonomous systems in summer 2027. You will work in-person at one of our offices in Costa Mesa, CA, contributing to real-world military technology programs.

Applicants must be pursuing a relevant degree, returning to school after the internship, and be a U.S. person eligible for access to export-controlled information.

What You’ll Do

• Use principles of control theory, applied physics, and applied mathematics to design GNC solutions for Anduril’s autonomous systems
• Design, build, and test GNC control laws in VMS (vehicle management system) software
• Build vehicle simulation models to inform design trades, assess system capabilities, and establish system margins
• Contribute to the development of new capabilities to enhance existing products or bring capabilities and technologies to market
• Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
• Work on real, meaningful projects and learn from experienced professionals along the way

Required Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
• Ability to complete an in-person 12-week internship in one of our offices in summer 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in digital control systems, linear and nonlinear dynamics systems
• Experience in state estimation, e.g. Kalman filter, extended Kalman filter
• Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink
• A desire to work on GNC solutions that have real-world impact

US Hourly Range

$42—$60 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
