Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a motivated student for a summer internship in GNC design and autonomy. You will apply control theory, build and test GNC laws in our vehicle management software, and develop simulation models to inform design choices and margins.

This role emphasizes collaboration across teams and real-world impact on defense systems. The 12-week in-person internship occurs in summer 2027 at one of our offices in the United States, located in Costa Mesa, CA.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in a technical field related to robotics or aerospace.
• Returning to school after the internship to continue academic studies.
• U.S. Person required due to access and/or security requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Use principles of control theory, applied physics, and applied mathematics to design GNC solutions for Anduril’s autonomous systems
• Design, build, and test GNC control laws in VMS (vehicle management system) software
• Build vehicle simulation models to inform design trades, assess system capabilities, and establish system margins
• Contribute to the development of new capabilities to enhance existing products or bring capabilities and technologies to market
• Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality
• Work on real, meaningful projects and learn from experienced professionals along the way

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export‑controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
• Ability to complete an in‑person 12‑week internship in one of our offices in summer 2027.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in digital control systems, linear and nonlinear dynamics systems
• Experience in state estimation, e.g. Kalman filter, extended Kalman filter
• Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink
• A desire to work on GNC solutions that have real‑world impact

US Hourly Range $42 — $60 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
