Job summary

American Forest Management is offering a 2027 Summer Internship in Farmington, ME. You will collaborate with experienced foresters on inventory work, timber sale layout, streamside buffers, inspections, GIS/GPS applications, and tract inspections.

You will gain hands-on field experience outdoors, develop data analysis and navigation skills, and receive mentorship from professionals committed to your growth. Flexible start/end dates and competitive hourly pay are part of the program.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Interest in consulting forestry as a career.
• Experience in forest inventory is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word; GIS/GPS familiarity is beneficial.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Position Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field.
• Enthusiastic about a future in consulting forestry.
• Previous experience in forest inventory is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with GIS/GPS software and tools is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, and managers.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable working in various outdoor environments.
