Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. offers an Environmental Assessment internship. You will assist with NEPA documentation, data gathering for environmental reports, and field surveys under supervision.

You will use ArcGIS Pro, support permit applications, and help prepare memoranda, letters, and notes while developing practical skills in environmental science and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Active enrollment in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Environmental Biology, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology or Environmental Engineering.
  • Ideal candidate has completed sophomore year and is enrolled in a 4-year college/university.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license is required or advised.
  • Familiarity with Geographic Information System software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare NEPA documentation for categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements.
  • Gather and provide data for environmental reports and studies.
  • Assist in environmental field surveys (threatened/endangered species habitat, tree IDs, streams, wetlands).
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro for data gathering and exhibit creation.
  • Assist in preparing environmental permit applications and related memoranda and reports.
