Job description

At IBM, we believe technology shapes the world, and we are a catalyst for innovation and creativity. We are at the forefront of groundbreaking change — improving businesses, society, and the human condition. As a leader in Hybrid Cloud and AI, we are leading the charge in a worldwide digital transformation.

Our Performance Marketing team drives scalable and predictable revenue growth. We exist to generate demand for IBM’s products and offerings — and to convert that demand into measurable pipeline and business impact. As part of our team, you’ll be surrounded by bright minds and keen collaborators — always willing to help and be helped — as you apply passion to work that will compel our audience to choose IBM's products and services.

When you join IBM, you join a culture of openness, collaboration, and trust. You join a team of IBMers who are helping technology support a positive global transformation. So join us and experience a place where you can co-create your learning and opportunities. A place where teamwork and unique ideas are treasured. A place where you can bring innovation to life.

Your role and responsibilities

As a software developer, you’ll join an AI development team inside IBM Marketing that builds two things: 1) the AI assistant on ibm.com, and 2) internal platform that SEO, content, and marketing teams use to plan, measure, and automate their work. You’ll contribute to whichever side fits your strengths, ideally both.

Developers supporting our AI assistant for ibm.com may:

  • Build agentic and multilingual capabilities for a chatbot serving ibm.com marketing pages and other IBM-owned sites
  • Develop Python tools and API integrations that assistants can call
  • Develop agentic search using hybrid RAG, internal APIs, and third‑party services
  • Build crawling pipelines and integrations that keep the assistant's answers grounded in current ibm.com content
  • Extend our evaluation and testing framework
  • Research competitor features and contribute ideas to move our chatbot forward
  • Collaborate with frontend, contact‑channel, UX, and design teams on a unified experience
  • Develop analytics dashboards and analyze data to see what’s working

Developers supporting our internal marketing platform may:

  • Develop a Next.js platform for SEO and AI‑visibility reporting, page planning, work management, and process automation
  • Build data integrations and pipelines across web analytics, search, CMS platforms, SEO tools, a custom crawler, and business systems into a shared marketing database
  • Build APIs and AI‑driven scripts that automate audits, research, and content workflows for other teams
  • Contribute to our open‑source integrations between watsonx.ai and frameworks like the VercelAI SDK
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and turn feedback into shipped features
