Job summary

The Internship Program

Our 10-week summer program puts real work of the firm in your hands. You will work alongside brilliant people, gain insights and know-how from our Quanta Academy Summer Term curriculum, and experience what it’s like to work at the pinnacle of global, systematic investing.

Our unique AQR Quanta Academy: Summer Term learning series, a structured program, consists of over 40 hours of educational, skill-building and networking events.

Your Role

We are looking for innovative and passionate undergraduates to join our engineering teams as summer analysts. Candidates may be interviewed for one of several teams.

As a Summer Analyst, you will work on meaningful projects that support a wide range of business and investment functions across the firm. You will collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deploy solutions in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Projects may include:

• Building scalable applications and services
• Designing user interfaces and data visualization tools
• Developing APIs and backend systems
• Working with large and complex datasets
• Enhancing cloud-based infrastructure and distributed systems
• Improving developer tools, automation, and operational efficiency
• Researching and implementing innovative technologies

You will gain exposure to modern software engineering practices and technologies while contributing to systems that are critical to the firm’s operations and investment processes.

Our engineering teams work with a broad range of technologies, which may include:

• Python, Java, C#, Go
• Web technologies and modern frontend frameworks
• Cloud platforms and distributed systems
• Databases, messaging systems, and data platforms
• Visualization and analytics tools
• Version control, CI/CD, and automation frameworks

Who You Are

• Finishing either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program between December 2027 and June 2028
• Mature and thoughtful, with the ability to operate within a collaborative, team-oriented culture
• Hard working and eager to learn in a highly intellectual, innovative environment
• Look beyond the surface level to understand the underlying details
