Job summary

ITT Westminster Engineering Co-Op offers hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, and related disciplines. Based in Westminster, SC, the position supports multiple rotations starting May 2027, with a 40-hour work week and a $22/hour rate of pay.

Students will work with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to develop skills in project management, CAD modeling, documentation, and process improvement while gaining exposure to ITT’s diverse product lines.

• Enrolled in an Engineering program with a minimum 2.50 GPA.
• Must be able to work in a combination office and assembly/machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Update Manufacturing work instruction manuals.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Quality to set priorities and tasks.
• Use Excel and MS Word to track project documents.
• Create 3D models, production drawings and BOMs.
• Analyze customer applications and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in product testing and development.
• Assist in manufacturing process improvement projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Position: Engineering Co-op (May 2027 start)

Location: Westminster, SC

Major: Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Automotive or related)

Academic Schedule: 3 rotations (1st: May - August 2027)

Status: Full Time (40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Rate of pay: $22 per hour depending on class year

Summary:

Compact Automation Products belongs to the ITT family of companies. With a dedicated focus on technical solutions for specific application needs we can supply customerswith the latest technologies in Hydraulic Cylinders for linear motion and force, Air Cylinders for pneumatic linear reciprocating motion and Linear Actuators that can use different mediums to achieve straight line motion control. With bore sizes from 8mm to 8 inches and forces up to 5,000 pounds, our small but powerful products are some of the easiest to repair in the field. We also specialize in customizing and modifying standard cylinder designs to fit your specific application requirements.

This rotational position will provide the successful candidate with impactful opportunities in Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.

The position is located in Westminster, SC, which is about 20-25 minutes from Clemson University.

The ITT Westminster Engineering Co-Op Experience-

During each rotation our Co-Ops work with the Engineering Manager to develop a list of projects that will be the responsibility of the Co-Op to manage and complete. The nature of these projects will be determined based on a combination of interests of the student, business needs, and aptitude of the student to complete the tasks required. These projects are meant to stretch the student to develop new skills, experience and will require hands‑on involvement in areas outside of engineering like machining, assembly, and quality. We strive to make the “ITT Engineering Co-Op Experience” unique by providing opportunities to experience the aspects of an engineering career which can’t be learned in a classroom with the aid of a coach and mentor.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
