The A-C Electric Company InternshipExperience Program gives students a hands-on opportunity to learn howelectrical construction projects are estimated and prepared forbidding. During this 10-week internship, you’ll work alongsideexperienced estimators and project teams while learning to interpretproject documents, develop quantity takeoffs, evaluate costs, andsupport competitive bids. You’ll apply quantitative and analyticalskills to real estimating work while gaining practical insight intohow scope, quantities, labor, materials, and pricing come togetherduring preconstruction.

What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Estimating Intern, your keyresponsibilities will be:

• Learning the electrical estimating process by workingalongside an estimating mentor and project teams to understand howelectrical construction opportunities move from bid documents through estimate development.
  
• Reviewing project documents by examining drawings,specifications, and other bid information to help identify projectscope and estimating requirements.
  
• Developing quantity takeoffs by measuring and quantifyingproject requirements using calculations and estimating softwareunder the guidance of experienced estimators.
  
• Supporting cost development by researching and analyzing material, labor, and equipment costs and helping organize theinformation used to develop estimates.
  
• Assisting with bid preparation by contributing to estimatedocumentation, bid proposals, and other materials that support thebidding process.
  

During the 10-week program, you’ll also haveopportunities to:

• Complete a continuous-improvement project focused on anestimating-related process and present your findings to seniorleadership at the end of the internship.

What You Bring

• Current enrollment at a college or university with anexpected graduation date on or before August 2029.
  
• A GPA of at least 3.0 in upper-division coursework for yourmajor or 2.75 overall.
  
• Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for theentire 10-week Summer 2027 internship.
  
• Ability to relocate to Fresno, CA, for the duration of the internship.
