Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA seeks Firmware Engineers to develop low-level firmware for microcontrollers and collaborate with electrical engineering on hardware/software solutions across land, sea, and air. You will create reusable device drivers, debug across boundaries, and help scale a growing codebase.

Anduril is seeking Firmware Engineers to join our team based in Costa Mesa, CA. The Firmware team at Anduril develops core technology used across multiple products such as as Menace, Dive-XL, Ghost, and Roadrunner. We work in close coordination with Electrical Engineering to develop hardware and software solutions to some of the hardest problems facing our customers. You'll contribute low level firmware development for systems operating on land, sea, and air.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Develop low-level firmware/software for microcontrollers
• Create reusable device drivers and integrate system-level features
• Architect changes to support an ever-growing codebase
• Quickly debug and troubleshoot issues that span the electrical, firmware, and software boundaries
• Collaborate and review schematics with the electrical engineering team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be pursuing or have recently completed abachelor’s ormaster’sdegree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S.export-controlledinformation or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
• Able to start full time in 2027.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience coding in C for embedded systems
• Familiarity with microcontrollers with analog and digital sensors
• Knowledge of developing firmware in bare-metal or RTOS environments
• Understanding and application of coding best practices, board bring up and debugging
• Some familiarity with common bus protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.
• Experience with one or more microcontroller cores (ARM, AVR, MSP430, PIC, etc.)
• Debugging skills with JTAG, SWD, Oscilloscopes, and Logic analyzers
• Have a bias for action. If you see a problem, you want to solve and fix it
• Be naturally curious about the technologies and tools you use
• Low-ego, high ownership, and mission oriented.

US Salary Range

$112,000 — $149,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
