Northrop Grumman is seeking Cyber Software Engineer Intern.

This position will be located at our Mission Systems Sector in Cincinnati , OH.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position involves developing solutions to national security threats with products that may involve kernel development, reverse engineering, or vulnerability research of network and communication systems. The position requires basic software development skills, including familiarity with scripting languages. Knowledge of computer networking, modern software development environments, embedded programming, and software configuration management tools is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2027

  • Be majoring in or having majored in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with degree focus on Computer Science, Cyber Security, Cyber Software or Systems Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

  • Active security clearance

  • Experience with debugging and/or system analysis tools

  • Experience with SDLC (software development life cycle)

  • Experience with reverse engineering

  • Experience with virtual machine technology

  • Familiarity with modern source control platforms (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and CI/CD workflows using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.

Intern Pay Range:

Bachelor’s: $19.50 to $35.50 per hour

Master’s: $27.50 to $43.50 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

Primary Level Salary Range: $19.50 - $35.50

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
