Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Aurora, CO is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer internship to join the Space sector. The selected student will become part of the Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team and gain hands-on experience with security and systems administration on an active program.

The role requires full-time enrollment in a degree program (CS/Cyber), 20 hours/week during Fall 2026, and eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance. Security+ and related certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Be enrolled full-time in Spring 2027.
  • Majoring in Computer Science, Cyber or Cyber Security, IT/Systems Administration, Computer Information Systems or related STEM majors.
  • Be available to work part-time (no more than 20 hours per week) during Fall 2026.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required) with Program Special access.
  • Has basic education or knowledge about Servers and Networking technologies.
  • Interest in learning more about Cyber Security and Systems Administration for an active Program.
  • Willingness to obtain a Security+ Certification.

Northrop Grumman is seeking Cyber Security Engineers for an internship opportunity. This position will be located at our Space sector in Aurora, CO. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team.

Basic Qualifications
  • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Spring 2027
  • Be majoring in Computer Science, Cyber or Cyber Security, IT/Systems Administration, Computer Information Systems' or related STEM majors
  • Be available to work part-time (no more than 20 hours per week) during the fall 2026 semester.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Has some basic education or knowledge about Servers and Networking technologies
  • Interest in learning more about and working within a Cyber Security and Systems Administration domain for an active Program
  • Willingness to obtain a Security+ Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
  • Existing an Security + Certification
Intern Pay Range

Bachelor's: $20.50 to $38.00 per hour

Master's: $29.75 to $46.75 per hour

At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
