Job summary

Under Canvas in Paradise Valley, MT is seeking a Seasonal Facilities Technician to maintain our glamping locations. You will work with the Facilities Supervisor to keep tents, plumbing, electrical, and equipment safe and operational for guests and staff.

The role involves daily maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across camp facilities, with potential housing. You’ll need at least a high school diploma and one year of maintenance experience, and be able to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of maintenance and repair experience in outdoor/hospitality settings.
• Willingness to work long hours outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to read and follow safety standards.
• Team-player with problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs and perform strenuous tasks.

Responsibilities

• Interact regularly with guests and team members
• Think critically to respond quickly to changing situations on property
• Be solutions oriented and proactive in problem solving
• General upkeep of tents, plumbing systems, propane water heaters, stove pipes, decks, trailers, vehicles, generators, solar power equipment and more
• Day-to-day maintenance and repair work at a camp location with multiple facilities
• Work alongside facilities team members under the Facilities Manager
• Other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards

Salary Range: $14.50 To $15.00 Hourly

Summary

As a Facilities Technician, you work closely with the Facilities Supervisor to ensure our glamping location is well-maintained, safe, and operational for our team members and guests. You play an important role in our success by performing daily maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of our tents, amenities, equipment, and property. Depending on the camp location, the nature of work performed will vary from basic upkeep to more technical functions such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. This is a seasonal, hourly position that includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact regularly with guests and team members
• Think critically to respond quickly and effectively to ever changing situations on property
• Be solutions oriented and proactive in problem solving
• General upkeep of tents, plumbing systems, propane gas water heaters, stove pipes, decks, trailers, vehicles, generators, solar power equipment and more
• Perform day-to-day maintenance and repair work at a camp location consisting of up to 80 high-quality outdoor tents with plumbing, communal structures with showers and toilets, laundry facilities, restaurants, common areas, fire pits, outdoor activities, and equipment
• Work alongside facilities team members, under the director of the Facilities Manager, on related tasks and in across multiple departments as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum one year of experience performing corrective, preventative, or general maintenance and repair work, preferably in customer-focused, outdoor environments, hotels, or hospitality
• Outdoor enthusiast: ability to work long, flexible hours outdoors in heat and cold

Additional Information

• This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment, when applicable.
• This position requires that the individual is able to lift a minimum of 45lbs independently.
• Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting, and maneuvering in an outdoor environment on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow, humidity, and wind.
• This position is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of abackground check and/or motor vehicle records check, if requested by Under Canvas.
