Job summary

Lycoming Engines, a Textron company in Williamsport, PA, seeks an entry‑level Associate Configuration Management Engineer to contribute to new product development and legacy support. You will create and maintain engine BOMs, review changes, and process ECOs in PLM while collaborating with Procurement, Operations, and Quality teams.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional teamwork, attention to detail, and ongoing development opportunities as you gain hands‑on experience with FAA certification

• Actively pursuing BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of engineering assignments related to new product development and/or enhancement of existing products.
• Create and maintain engine bill of materials (BOM).
• Review engineering changes / revisions to both engineering procedures and drawings.
• Create and execute engineering change orders (ECOs) using PLM software.
• Consult with customers on designs and specifications.
• Assist ODA group with FAA certification effort.
• Coordinate activities with Director, Configuration Management and Regulations to ensure business and development goals will be achieved.
• May interface with suppliers.

Assisting with creating, developing & documenting engine and component designs. Assuring technical work is done according to defined processes and that work products conform to established standards. Also responsible for supporting legacy products, acting as technical resource for cross‑functional departments such as Procurement, Operations, and Quality. There will be opportunity to provide engineering support to experimental engine testing and production parts manufacturing and engine assembly.

Education:

• Actively pursuing BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Beneficial Experience:

• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T drafting standards
• BOM creation / maintenance using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred)

Competency Requirements:

• Teamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflicts
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills with high attention to detail
