Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Analyst I in the Global Leveraged Finance business, you will be an integral member of CIBC’s Investment Banking team, supporting the origination, structuring, and execution of leveraged loan and high yield bond transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients. You will gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, working alongside senior professionals to deliver debt financing solutions and support event-driven transactions such as leveraged buyouts, M&A financings, and recapitalizations. As a Leveraged Finance Analyst, you will gain valuable experience in US leveraged finance underwriting and advisory business.

  • Assisting in the preparation of client presentations, pitch books, and underwriting materials.
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis, including comparable company analysis and capital markets trend analysis.
  • Supporting senior team members in transaction due diligence, deal documentation, and internal approval processes.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Credit & Market Risk, and Global Markets.
  • Participating in client meetings and maintaining relationships with internal teams and clients.
  • Monitoring market trends and regulatory developments to identify strategic opportunities.

This role has a salary of $115,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
