AbbVie’s Accounting & Finance Development Program (AFDP) offers rotational experiences to prepare you for accounting and financial management roles. Participants work on diverse projects and gain exposure to multiple leaders, accelerating development for leadership opportunities within AbbVie. Most AFDP members start in Lake County, IL, with potential rotations in other U.S.

locations or globally. The program emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, training, and hands-on experience in finance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with an expected graduation date between Dec 2026 and Aug 2027.
• Completed at least three accounting courses (one in cost or managerial accounting).
• Proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated leadership in school or student organizations.
• Willingness to relocate outside of Lake County, IL for 1–2 six-month rotations.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization/tools and Excel certifications is a plus.

• Commercial:Commercial Finance providesgloballeadership, guidance, and financial support to AbbVies Commercial operations, including the Allergan Aesthetics business.This organizationforecastsforour key brands inImmunology,Oncology,orNeuroscience and Eye Care.CommercialInternational Therapeutics helps to supportour globaloperations and planningworldwide.
• Operations:OperationsFinance provides leadership and guidance to Manufacturing, Supply Chain,Purchasingand various other support functions related to financial planning and internal management reporting. The Finance team provides decision support services through analysis of key financial information, while driving operating margin improvement, maximizing tax advantaged product sourcing, andmaintainingan assurance of supply.
• Research & Development:Supports AbbVies Research & Development (R&D) activities with primary focus on pipeline compounds in development, beginning from target and molecule discovery to human clinical study conduct to filing for regulatory approvals in markets around the world, and support of on-market products for new indications and regulatory commitments. R&D Finance isgenerally alignedaround the stages of compound development and its related operating functions.
• Corporate:
  • Accounting:The Accounting COE governs AbbVies global accounting function,establishingand monitoring global policy, procedures, and controls for One AbbVie.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):FP&A drives business performance by serving as trusted advisors and partners who influence strategy, enable operation excellence, andmaintaina strongcontrolsenvironment.
  • Finance Shared Services:Finance Shared Services governs and supports AbbVies global, standardized, end-to-end, back-office processes,maintainingthe operations and transactional business activities that enable the company to run.
  • Internal Audit:Internal Auditprotects and enhances organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight.
  • Investor Relations:The Investor Relations (IR) functionis responsible fordeveloping, implementing, and managing a comprehensive, strategic, and proactive investor relations program that optimizes the value of AbbVies stock. IR serves as a primarypoint of interfaceto introduce, position, and market the company to equity analysts and large institutional investors. IRdisseminateskey company informationregardingAbbVies corporate strategy, financial performance, and product/pipeline performance toassistinvestors in making informed investment decisions. The IR team works closely withnumerousfunctions within the company, including the Executive Leadership Team, Finance, Commercial, Legal, R&D, Public Affairs, Business Development, Government Affairs, etc.
  • Tax and Global Trade Compliance (GTC):Tax is a trusted business partner that enables our businessby fulfillingtax legal obligations and through collaboration with key finance and operational functions. By managing the domestic and international tax profile, Tax delivers value to the company and shareholders.
  • Treasury:Treasury provides centralized and efficient global business support in the areas of banking, foreign exchange, financial risk management,investmentsand capital structure that ensures adequate liquidity for the company and its subsidiaries.In addition to the HQ location in Lake County, Treasury has regional centers in Singapore, the Netherlands, and Colombia.

In addition to gaining the above functional experience, you will also work cross-functionally in a matrix environment, building your business acumen, and participating in key training sessions.

During your time as an AFDP member, you can expect to complete separate professional work assignments within finance areas, such as:

• Financial Analysis
• Budgets, PlansForecasting
• Reporting & Controls
• Manufacturing Operations Accounting

Most AFDP members will be placed within one of AbbVies offices in Lake County, IL for their first rotation, with the possibility of an initial placement or rotation in any U.S. AbbVie location. Global placements are also possible. Placements will be based on business needs and our ability to accommodate individuals' preferences, when possible.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

• Must have completed a bachelors degree in finance and/or accounting, with an expected graduation date betweenDecember 2026August2027.
• Successful completion of at least three accounting courses (each with 3 credit hours) by the time of graduation, with one of the courses being focused on cost or managerial accounting.
• Proven capability to effectively communicate within work and/or academic environments, adapting messaging to suit diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated utilization of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in both academic and professional settings.
• Demonstrated leadership experience within a school or student organization setting.
• Willingness to relocate outside of Lake County IL for 1 to 2 six-month rotation(s).
• Must submit unofficial or official transcript at time of application.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

• Dual major or minor in a related field is a plus.
• Experience in effectively utilizing systems and tools to visualize and present data in a meaningful way.
• Exposure or proficiency in handling data analysis and ability to perform robust analytics and predictive modelling with ease.
• Completion of an accredited Excel or data visualization tool certificate program or course.
• Capability to blend technical and business knowledge and supplement it with analytical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects within a work and/or academic environment, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
• Proven track record of working collaboratively in teams, being adaptable, innovative, proactive, and maintaining high ethical standards.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Additional Information

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

• This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
