Kitty Hawk Kites, Inc. is seeking seasonal line cook and utility prep staff for the Good Winds Restaurant in Rodanthe, NC for the 2026 season. Housing is available for team members as part of the role.

Responsibilities include preparing food to recipes, maintaining sanitation, stocking stations, and coordinating with the lead chef. Prior food service experience is valued, with flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in full service or institutional food service environment preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and personnel.
• Skilled at cooking commensurate with level of experience.
• Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and grow in food service abilities.
• Mature in judgment and behavior.
• Organization, cooperation, and time management skills.
• Ability to be flexible and work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.

We are looking for seasonal staff for the 2026 season. Housing is available.

DESCRIPTION

Thekitchen staff are assigned to their specific places in the line and ensure that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with standardized recipes so food quality requirements are met and maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares food and maintains sanitation standards
• Ensures the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked
• Follows instructions of lead or chef
• Makes sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
• Cleans prep areas and takes care of leftovers
• Stocks inventory and supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Good vision, reading ability, wrist movements, and physical feeling to operate food service equipment
