Responsibilities

• Process Improvement: Use Lean tools and Kaizen to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
• Technical Support: Assist engineers in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and solving manufacturing issues.
• Project Management: Support NPI by developing procedures, documenting workflows, and managing equipment layouts.
• Tooling/Design: Assist in designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data, labor standards, and quality defects.
• Learn Nexteer Automotive processes within and beyond Plant 4.

Job description

The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to selectstudents with high potential and provide them with \"real world\" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilateacquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains theopportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

This is a Student Co-op position located in Saginaw, MI. This position supports the Plant 4 Manufacturing/Controls Engineering activities.

• Process Improvement: Utilize Lean manufacturing tools and conduct Kaizen activities to eliminate waste and enhance efficiency.
• Technical Support: Assist engineers in troubleshooting, independent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and developing solutions for manufacturing issues.
• Project Management: Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing manufacturing procedures, documenting workflows, and managing equipment layouts.
• Tooling/Design: Assist with designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on production performance, labor standards, and quality defects.
• Learn the processes of Nexteer Automotive within and outside of the Plant 4 Building

Requirements

• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Engineering
• Candidate must have strong mathematical and analytic ability
• Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Access, SQL)
• Candidate must have excellent Communication, Documentation Skills and attention to detail
• Candidate must have a cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
