Job summary

Textron Systems in Slidell, LA is seeking a Fall 2026 Co-Op Software Engineer for Crewed Land projects. You will design, develop, test, and support embedded software and electrical interfaces within land vehicle systems.

Join a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced land platforms, working with AutoCAD/SolidWorks and supporting prototypes, testing, and documentation while learning military-grade design standards and security clearance processes.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with electrical/electronic component and system integration and analysis.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks and embedded systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support future family of vehicles for Land systems, integrating vehicular components and subsystems with new designs, product improvements, field and production problem resolution.
• Create electrical schematics, harness design, and drawings in CAD systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering calculations, write specifications, formulate sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers for technical data package delivery.
• Support prototype build, troubleshooting and documentation as required.
• Understand customer requirements and provide design solutions.
• Incorporate military standards and specifications into system design.

Textron Systems serves defense and commercial customers with expertise across Air, Land, Sea, Propulsion, Weapon Systems, Electronic Systems, and Test, Training & Simulation. The Land Systems – Crewed Land business area focuses on delivering advanced land vehicle solutions.

About This Role

This role is in Textron System's Land Systems – Crewed Land business area.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support future family of vehicles for Land systems, integrating vehicular components and subsystems with new designs, product improvements, field and production problem resolution.
• Create electrical schematics, harness design, and drawings in CAD systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in electrical/electronic component and system integration and analysis; electrical power distribution system design and electrical load analysis; electrical circuit design and analysis.
• Experience with electromotive component system design and integration; electro-electrical and servo control mechanism design and integration; electrical/electronic instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or related CAD experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
