Job summary

A leading aerospace manufacturer in Slidell, LA, is seeking a Fall Co-Op Software Engineer to design and develop future vehicles for land systems. The ideal candidate should be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have skills in electrical system integration. This co-op will provide diverse experiences, including networking opportunities and career development within a supportive environment. Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution system design and analysis.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop future vehicles for land systems.
  • Create electrical schematics and harness designs using CAD.
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Providing technical support to both internal and external customers for technical data package delivery.
  • Supporting prototype build, troubleshooting and documentation as required.
  • Understanding customer requirements and providing design solutions.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications and incorporating them into the system design.
  • Interest in automotive design related fields.

This role is in Textron System’s Land Systems – Crewed Land business area.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, developing, testing and supporting future family of vehicles for land systems, including integration of vehicular components, subsystems, in conjunction with new design, product improvement, field and production problem resolution.
  • Creating electrical schematics, harness design, and drawings in CAD systems such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Performing engineering calculations, writing specifications, formulating sketches, testing criteria, failure analysis, and cost estimates.
  • Providing technical support to both internal and external customers for technical data package delivery.
  • Supporting prototype build, troubleshooting and documentation as required.
  • Understanding customer requirements and providing design solutions.
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications and incorporating them into the system design.
  • Interest in automotive design related fields.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Electrical/Electronic component and system integration and analysis; electrical power distribution system design and electrical load analysis; electrical circuit design and analysis.
  • Electromotive component system design and integration; electro-electrical and servo control mechanism design and integration; electrical/electronic instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or related CAD experience.
  • This position requires an individual to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
