Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks an Associate Engineer to perform duties across electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas, guided by engineering drawings and testing protocols. Candidates must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.

Role includes calibration, testing, data reporting, and working from verbal or written instructions while exploring improvements to systems and components. A bachelor's degree in STEM is required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Exclude technicians working in Production or Quality Assurance

Basic Qualifications
  • A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelors from an accredited institution.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in STEM or related field
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.7 out of 4.0 or higher
Salary Range
  • Associate Engineer: 76,200 - 114,400

  • Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00
  • The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
