SUMMARY: Responsible for providing staff piano accompaniment for all vocal performing groups/classes, small or large ensembles and soloists at the assigned school site. Accompany all daily class rehearsals, concerts, musical, state events and choral activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide piano accompaniment for vocal performing groups/classes, small or large ensembles and soloists at the assigned school site.
• Support the Teacher or Director by promoting and supporting the expectations and vision of the music program.
• Tutor or provide instructional assistance to individuals or student groups needing extra help in learning music concepts.
• Organize, file, catalogue and maintain music scores and materials.
• Assist and team with student accompanists as needed.
• Supervise the tuning and care of the pianos in the assigned school’s music department.
• Attend appropriate in-service meetings, building meetings, training, parent conferences and/or school functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of related experience
• Piano performance experience and extensive piano proficiency in technical skills
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
• If assigned to a Title I school, at least one of the following criteria is required
• completion of at least two years of higher education
• an associate’s (or higher) degree
• successful completion of the WorkKeys assessmentdemonstratinginstructional competency within one year of hire

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS
