Instructional Assistant/Personal Care LPN – Special Education

Location: Whispering Wind Academy

Duration: 9 months, 6.5 hours/day (8/3/2026 - 5/27/2027)

Grade 26/Step 24, $27.37/hour

Reports to: Elementary School Nurse

Essential Functions

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees and community.
• Observe, record, and report to the school nurse the condition of the student including signs and symptoms, which may be indicative of a change in the patient's condition.
• Provide for the emotional and physical comfort of the student.
• Assist in the care of the student in accordance with the student's care plan.
• Assist as needed with other students in program.
• Other job‑related duties as assigned.

Experience

Previous experience working with severely handicapped children.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Required Testing, Certificates and Licenses

Possession of a current license to practice as a licensed practical nurse.
