POSITION TITLE

Lecturer Pool – Interdisciplinary Studies

Position Details

The Interdisciplinary Studies program draws from perspectives and methodologies from various academic disciplines. Its courses engage students in learning opportunities through seminars and faculty-supervised independent learning activities. In addition, Interdisciplinary Studies is the administrative home of the Military Studies Minor, the Peace Corps Preparation Certificate, and experiential learning courses associated with the Peer Health Educator Internship Program.

Responsibilities

• Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours for part-time lecturers.
• Additional duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.
• Course assignments, including dates, time, and modality, are determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.

Appointment Details

Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, with occasional academic year appointments. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years related professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse students and colleagues and create inclusive learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic preparation and experience related to the area of teaching.
• Evidence of effective teaching.
• Strength of interpersonal communication skills.
