The Department of Gerontology provides an applied interdisciplinary approach to studying the human aging process and the challenges encountered by older adults and their families as they interact in contemporary society.
Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background as determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, the classification salary ranges for the respective ranks are provided, with salaries based on a full-time rate (15 weighted teaching units). A semester’s pay is issued in six equal payments. Salary for a given semester is pro-rated based on units worked out of 15 WTUs.
