The TV, Film, and Media Studies Department in the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA is seeking applications for a pool of part‑time faculty lecturers with positions available as needed during the 2026‑2027 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each semester.
Part‑time faculty lecturers are hired conditionally, with appointments based on enrollment and budget. Initial appointments are typically one semester, occasionally an academic year. Appointments may be renewed depending on departmental needs, funding, and performance. Often appointments are made just prior to a semester start, so faculty may need to be available on short notice.
Courses offered cover several topics in the history, criticism, and theory of TV, Film, and Media.

Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The anticipated monthly hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Most new faculty lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
