WORK HOURS: 7.5 hours per day
CONTRACT LENGTH: 203 Days

The Orientation and Mobility Specialist is responsible for providing direct services to students with IEPs. The services are related to orientation and mobility for students of the visually impaired. The O&M Specialist is to ensure that students' IEP are current in regards to services and that the goals and objectives are monitored for progress.
O&M Specialist is complete all needed documents to meet compliance and participate in all required meetings, trainings, and complete other duties, as assigned.
Possess certification from the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired
OR
Possess certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals
Applicants must have BA degree and possess or have ability to obtain a NM teaching license (New Mexico has an alternative licensure program for applicants who possess a BA degree or higher.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
