Tohatchi High School seeks an Athletic Coach for E-Sports to lead and develop a competitive program at the high school. On-site participation is required, with responsibilities to organize practices, mentor athletes, and coordinate with staff and the athletic director.
The ideal candidate will hold or be able to obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12), have high school diploma, and demonstrate strong leadership and strategic coaching abilities. Evening and weekend commitments are expected.

ATHLETIC COACHING LICENSE, 7-12
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Must hold or have the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License ( https://webnew.ped.state.nm.us/bureaus/licensure/how-to-apply/athletic-coach-7-12/ ) from the New Mexico Public Education Department as well as completing the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association. The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.
On-site attendance is mandatory for this position.
In several instances, the head coach must advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal.
To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
Work with students interested in sports, provide necessary practice support and advice for a team to be successful against opposing teams in a sports season. Teach and enforce rules and regulations. Involves work on evenings and weekends.
