Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a School Counselor at Mays High School to provide counseling services to students, teachers, parents and others in an in-person setting, guiding personal, academic and career development.
The role requires a Master’s degree and Georgia S5-S7 certification, with at least two years of related experience, preferably in a school environment. Strong listening, writing and interpersonal skills are essential.
The Counselor provides counseling services to students, teachers, parents and others regarding personal, academic and career issues in an in-person environment. Ensures guidance and counseling programs are implemented and educate and aide students and the community effectively.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION:
SALARY RANGE: 56.00 Per Hour up to 29 hours per week

Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Understand how to manage stress.
