Job summary

Mountain Cat LLC is seeking a qualified translator/interpreter to translate documentation from Farsi to English and perform oral interpretation across meetings and conferences. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with poly, excellent English grammar, and strong Farsi proficiency.

Applicants should demonstrate ILR 3 translation proficiency and experience with CAT platforms, and must be willing to travel monthly or longer to austere and high-risk locations, several times per year.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Ability to pass an English grammar test.
• Working proficiency in Farsi.
• Ability to pass a translation test from the source language into English with ILR 3 or higher.
• Demonstrated proficiency with one or more CAT platforms.

• Ability and willingness to go on work trips lasting once month or longer, several times per year, to include austere and high-risk locations.
• Interpretation may include individual meetings or conference-type settings.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
• Ability to pass an English grammar test.
• Working proficiency in Farsi.
• Ability to pass a translation test from the source language into English with a minimum of 3 on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Scale. (Higher scores qualify for higher rates.)
• Demonstrated proficiency with one or more Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) platforms.

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Subject Matter Expertise in science and technology, military affairs, cyber, political science, cultural and regional knowledge.
