2025 Summer School Elementary Teacher - 2nd Grade (3-4 Positions)

Join us to apply for the 2025 Summer School Elementary Teacher - 2nd Grade (3-4 Positions) role at HASTINGS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT 200.

Position Overview: Under the supervision of the Summer School Principal, the Elementary Summer School Teacher will be responsible for team planning and teaching, developing and implementing instructional plans, supervising support assistants, and providing progress reports for each student.

Program Philosophy: We believe all children, regardless of ability or background, can learn at high levels. The summer program focuses on basic skills in reading, math, written language, and social skills tailored to student needs.

Qualifications: Current Minnesota Elementary Teacher License.

Expectations: Commitment to the entire summer session, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Teaching Dates: June 16-18 (no school on Juneteenth), June 23-26, and June 30-July 3, 2024. The daily schedule is Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. prep time; 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. instructional day.

Additional requirements include:

• 1 hour on July 11 to complete Learning Plans for each student
• 30-minute staff meeting in May
• 5.5 hours for preparation

Compensation: Hourly Rate: $37.00, per the Master Agreement. This position does not qualify for benefits unless already a contracted employee.
