Job description

The Fixed Income Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week program that includes:

  1. One week of classroom training
  2. Multiple rotations across Fixed Income, including areas such as Global Credit & Municipals, Securitized Products, Foreign Exchange/Emerging Markets, Interest Rates, and Commodities

Summer Analysts gain on-the-job training, work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects, and develop their skillsets in a dynamic environment. The program also offers a Senior Management Speaker Series, desk teach-ins, networking events, community service, performance reviews, and a mentorship program.

Program Overview

Participants start with a one-day orientation to learn about Morgan Stanley's businesses and workplace culture. They then attend division-specific training focusing on core skills, daily market updates, business overviews, and product and technical training.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Sales: Develop and maintain client relationships, create investment ideas, learn sales and cross-selling techniques, and represent the Firm in client interactions.
  • Trading: Assist in generating trade ideas, support market-making and trade execution, and analyze trades.
  • Strategy: Develop investment recommendations based on market fundamentals and technical research, utilizing the firm's database to create models.
  • Structuring: Build valuation models to optimize transaction economics and assess value and risk.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Pursuing an undergraduate (junior) or Master's degree with expected graduation in December 2025 or Spring 2026
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Keen interest in finance and markets; prior knowledge not required
  • Analytical, adaptable, strong work ethic, leadership qualities, team player, multi-tasker
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Expected pay starts at $52.89/hour, with total compensation including bonuses and benefits based on individual factors.
