**This assignment will work out of the Highway 7 (old TSP) building.
*All ESY Teachers required to attend mandatory preparation meeting on June 25, 2025, from 8:30am-12:30pm.
License Required:Minnesota K-12 Special Education License (ABS/LD/EBD/ASD/DD)
Compensation:Current contracted Minnetonka Teachers receive their contracted hourly equivalent pay rate.
External hires receive the Summer Pay Rate per the Teacher CBA.
Job Duties and Requirements:- Develop and provide programming based on Individual Educational Plan.
- Responsible for case management of special education students.
- Complete required Due Process procedures within mandated time frames.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Develop Individual Educational Plan (IEP/IFSP/IIIP) based on assessment data and student needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents outside normal ESY school day.
- Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues and supervisors.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Specific Responsibilities:- Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
- Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
- Respond in emergency situations.
- Know, interpret, and follow school District policies.
- May plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
Knowledge and Skills:- Demonstrated knowledge in using a variety of behavior management strategies.
- Evidence of positive communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a computer, software and necessary technology.
- Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents and the community.
- Maintain professional composure while dealing with a variety of personalities and situations.
- Show initiative and function as a self-starter.
