Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Mechanical Engineer and or Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located in Gilbert, AZ.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space System Division.
The Mechanical Engineer will work on all spacecraft structures and mechanical hardware from requirements all the way through integration and test. The candidate will perform detailed design tasks using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document designs for manufacturing and ultimately assembly into spacecraft. The role involves interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft engineering disciplines, and component suppliers. Skills include, but are not limited to, Computer Aided Design (CAD), knowledge and application of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D Printing, Design for Manufacturing, Mechanics of Metallic / Composite Materials, Stress Calculations, and Spacecraft Component Layout.
