Position Overview: For the 2025-26 school year, the Dallastown Area School District seeks a Reading Specialist for York Township Elementary School (K-3). This role embodies our dedication to excellence and our vision of inspiring pathways for student success.

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the principal and supervisor of federal programs and services, you will collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and students to lead and coordinate a balanced, effective reading program that promotes student achievement.

Responsibilities:

1. Interpret and support the district's reading philosophy, tailoring instructional programs to meet the needs of students, teachers, and the community.
2. Collaborate with teachers to analyze data, ensuring ongoing student growth and achievement, addressing developmental and remedial needs.
3. Assist in selecting appropriate materials and organizing classrooms to meet curricular goals.
4. Support teachers in diagnosing student needs and planning instructional strategies.
5. Provide remedial instruction in collaboration with teachers, intervention specialists, and families.
6. Lead in developing and implementing new methods, materials, and resources for the reading program.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor of Federal Programs and Services.

Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree
2. PA Instructional I or II Certification: Reading Specialist PK-12 (7650)
3. Preferably, at least five years of teaching experience
4. Experience in delivering professional development with expertise in reading
5. Demonstrated ability to work positively and effectively with students
6. Completion of all mandated pre-employment documentation
