Responsibilities
- Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject areas to support their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate for the subject/level assigned
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Strategies
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, with documented evidence of preparation.
- Design lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
- Present material according to TEA guidelines, policies, and regulations.
- Use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials tailored to student needs.
- Utilize data to plan and adjust instruction, considering individual needs such as ESL, gifted, or special education.
- Assess student learning styles and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
- Coordinate with staff to establish instructional goals and methods.
- Implement district-established FLES instructional framework.
- Maintain records on language acquisition and accommodations.
- Participate in extended day/year programs as needed.
- Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
- Integrate technology to enhance learning.
Student Growth and Development
- Assist students in improving study methods and habits.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement.
- Manage extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
- Serve as a positive role model and support district mission.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Create a conducive learning environment appropriate for student development.
- Manage student behavior per policies and IEPs.
- Ensure safety and proper handling of equipment and materials.
- Assist in selecting instructional materials.
Communication
- Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community members.
- Communicate effectively and clearly.
Professional Growth
- Stay current with content knowledge and teaching strategies.
- Participate in professional development, including 5 days beyond district requirements for dual language education.
- Show initiative in professional growth.

- Comply with regulations and policies.
- Maintain and file necessary reports and records.

Working Conditions
