Assignment Details:

Assignment can be flexible to meet needs, including: 35 minutes a day, 3 hours every Friday, 6 hours every other Friday.

Click here to view the 2024-25 teacher salary schedule. Rates for this position can be found in Appendix -a-, Schedule A. This position is not eligible for medical or dental benefits.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, providing individualized and small group instruction to adapt the district-approved curriculum to student needs.
  2. Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  3. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to create an effective learning environment.
  4. Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth; keep records and prepare progress reports.
  5. Identify pupil needs, make referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
  6. Communicate regularly with parents via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, emails, conferences, etc.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
  8. Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best teaching practices.
  9. Participate in a professional learning community.
  10. Integrate technology into instruction.
  11. Perform other similar duties as required.
Specific Responsibilities:
  1. Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
  2. Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
  3. Respond to emergency situations.
  4. Follow school district policies.
  5. Coordinate work of paraprofessionals and volunteers as needed.
  6. Contribute to goal-setting for paraprofessionals.
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Ability to perform daily routines effectively.
  2. Proficiency with computers, software, and classroom technology.
  3. Ability to develop positive relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
  4. Maintain professionalism in diverse situations.
