Position Details

Purpose Statement

The job of Teacher - High School involves supporting the instructional process by developing student success in academics and skills, supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with staff, and communicating with parents/guardians about student progress. This role reports to the Site Administrator.

Essential Functions

1. Administers assessments to evaluate student competencies.
2. Communicates student progress to parents/guardians.
3. Assesses and provides feedback on student progress.
4. Collaborates with staff and community resources to improve student outcomes.
5. Provides counseling or referrals for student issues.
6. Uses pedagogical strategies to engage learners.
7. Differentiates instruction to meet individual needs.
8. Directs student teachers, aides, and volunteers.
9. Instructs students to improve academic success.
10. Manages classroom behavior and monitors safety.
11. Participates in meetings and PLC teams.
12. Prepares and maintains documentation of student progress.
13. Reports health and safety issues and responds to emergencies.
14. Handles inquiries from staff and parents.

Additional Functions

Performs other duties as assigned to ensure effective operation.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate, Core Content Area Certification, and SEI Endorsement.
• Criminal Background Clearance and Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Proficiency in assessment, instructional techniques, and classroom management; knowledge of algebra/geometry; ability to work with diverse individuals; flexibility and problem-solving skills.

Physical Environment and Other Requirements
