Job Description

Position: Teacher

Salary Schedule: Certified Teacher Schedule

Department: Secondary Instruction

FLSA Status: Exempt

Safety-sensitive: Yes

Position Summary

The teacher will establish and foster a positive classroom environment where students can develop academically and socially. The teacher will maintain compliance with district policies and initiatives, and build positive, professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Teaching certification recognized by the State of Oklahoma
  • Experience with children or in a classroom setting preferred
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain records and databases for state and federal reports
  • Teach academic content aligned with state standards
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Communicate with parents about student progress
  • Collaborate with staff to support student needs
  • Engage in professional development and set growth goals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents; respond effectively to inquiries; write clearly; and present information confidently. Skills in math, reasoning, and physical demands are also required.

Work Environment
