Position Overview

About the Role

ASU Prep Digital Teachers are responsible for making knowledge accessible, developing students' cognitive capacities, implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), fostering self-esteem, motivation, civic responsibility, and leadership. The role involves ongoing professional growth, developing instructional materials, planning for classroom management, and communicating with parents regarding academic and behavioral issues.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or higher from an accredited institution, or meets Arizona Department of Education's Highly Qualified requirements.
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate; AZ preferred. Endorsements or proficiency exams may be required based on instruction area.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and current AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Professional verification of teaching performance and/or student teaching experience.
  • Equivalent experience, training, and education considered.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction across various subjects including reading, writing, math, science, social studies, ESL, health, arts, and more, adapting methods to meet student needs.
  • Maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and discipline.
  • Develop lesson plans and substitute plans aligned with learning objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance and progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
  • Contribute to professional growth and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Create a conducive learning environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
