Position Details

Purpose Statement

The job of Teacher - High School involves supporting the instructional process by developing student success in academics (such as Reading, Writing, Language, Math) or skills (such as Art, Music, Physical Education). Responsibilities include supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with staff and administrators, and communicating with parents about student progress.

Essential Functions

• Administer assessments to evaluate student competencies.
• Communicate student progress to parents and guardians.
• Assess and provide feedback on student progress.
• Collaborate with staff and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Counsel students and refer to specialists as needed.
• Demonstrate engaging pedagogical approaches.
• Differentiates instruction to meet individual needs.
• Supervise and manage student behavior.
• Participate in meetings and professional learning communities.
• Maintain records of student progress and incidents.
• Report health and safety issues.
• Respond to emergencies and inquiries appropriately.

Other Functions

Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate.
• Appropriate certification in core content area.
• SEI Endorsement.
• Criminal Background Clearance.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Requires skills in assessment, operating office software, record-keeping, curriculum application; knowledge of algebra, geometry, child development, behavioral management, assessment techniques; ability to schedule, collaborate, adapt, maintain confidentiality, and work flexibly with diverse individuals.

Physical and Other Requirements

Includes occasional lifting, standing, walking, working under temperature extremes, and exposure to risks. Experience preferred. Must meet educational and certification requirements.
